Artwork Upload

Upload artwork to ProTransfers and see instant analysis results — supported formats, file size limits, and what happens after upload.

Upload your artwork to the ProTransfers Studio by dragging a file onto the canvas or clicking to browse. ProTransfers accepts PNG, JPEG, WebP, SVG, AI, EPS, and PDF files up to 50 MB. After upload, the platform automatically analyzes your file and shows you how it will print as a DTF transfer.

How to Upload

Open the Studio. You will see a drop zone with instructions. You can upload in two ways:

  • Drag and drop — drag a file from your computer onto the Studio canvas
  • Click to browse — click the upload area to open a file picker

Your artwork appears on the canvas immediately as a preview while the file uploads. A progress bar shows the upload status.

What Happens After Upload

Once your file is uploaded, ProTransfers runs an artwork analysis that checks your design for print readiness:

  1. Processing — your file is optimized for printing. Colors are checked, transparency is handled, and preview images are generated. You will see an "Analyzing your artwork..." indicator.
  2. Simulations appear — the simulation footer at the bottom of the canvas shows your color reproduction score, file details, and print dimensions.
  3. Ready to order — measurement rulers appear on the canvas and all inspection tools become available in the toolbar.

Processing Time

  • Raster files (PNG, JPEG, WebP) — typically 2-10 seconds
  • Vector files (SVG, AI, EPS, PDF) — typically 15-30 seconds due to additional format processing. A "Preparing your artwork" indicator keeps you informed.

File Requirements

RequirementLimit
Maximum file size50 MB
Supported formatsPNG, JPEG, WebP, SVG, AI, EPS, PDF
Minimum dimensionsNo minimum — but very small files may produce low-resolution prints

Files that exceed the size limit or use an unsupported format are rejected with a clear error message before upload begins.

For a detailed comparison of each file format and when to use it, see Supported File Types.

Replacing Artwork

You work with one artwork at a time in the Studio. To upload a different file, click the delete button (trash icon) below the toolbar. This clears the canvas and returns you to the upload screen.

If your browser closes during processing, your artwork is not lost. Reopening the Studio will restore your session — either showing the upload in progress, analysis results, or an option to start over.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I upload multiple files at once?

ProTransfers processes one artwork at a time. Upload, review, and add each design to your cart individually. Your cart can hold multiple designs from different uploads.

What if my file is over 50 MB?

Reduce the file size before uploading. For raster files, try saving at a lower resolution or using WebP format, which offers smaller file sizes with high quality. For vector files, remove unused embedded images or fonts.

Does uploading cost anything?

No. Uploading and analyzing artwork is free. You only pay when you place an order.
